Synopsis:

We are looking for a developer to join our team to work on multiple projects. The ideal person will have experience developing in PHP and SQL with a keen sense of what is happening behind the scenes at the server and network level. Some projects are relatively standard CRUD databases with some reporting and custom interfaces. Others are far more advanced and will require some time to understand, so an interest in technology and an ability to come up with unique approaches will be important. Our clients range from professional organizations and private companies to school boards and government departments.

This person will be very detail oriented and will diligently comment their code and track their time spent working in each project. They will communicate professionally via email, chat, videoconference and through project management software.

Current projects:

• Web-based management system to assist with client inventory and billing for a small MSP
• Development of multiple WordPress plugins to interact with Moodle LMS
• Development of Moodle plugins to interact with WordPress and other systems
• Integration of an online examination provider’s API with custom business applications
• Ongoing maintenance and updates to existing web-based data driven systems and web sites

Future projects:

Develop a secure mobile electronic examination system using tablets or other devices

Required Skills:

PHP, MySQL, CSS, jQuery, Bootstrap, WordPress plugin and theme development, mental agility, excellent communications, and project management acumen.

Bonus Skills:

Linux server, Apache, DNS, LDAP, SSL, Domain Registration and general TCP/IP knowledge, fluency in French, sense of humor.
